Mary E. Truax

Mary E. Truax formerly of 2906 Route 305, passed away, Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009 in the Absolut at Houghton. Mrs. Truax was born on July 1, 1928 in Hamilton, Ohio and was a daughter of Walter and Elizabeth Reddick Stubbs. On Jan. 18, 1946 in West Clarksville she married Rev. John R. Truax who pre-deceased her on Sept. 16, 2006. Mrs. Truax was a 1946 Graduate of Cuba High School. She and her husband raised 9 children. Mrs. Truax was faithful to her husband and his ministry. She also played the piano. Surviving Mrs. Truax are four sons, John Truax of Binghamton, Rev. James (Thelma) Truax of Wellsboro, PA., Jerry (Christy) Truax of Raleigh, NC., and Jesse (Anne) Truax of Salem, NA.; five daughters, Janet (Rev. Sam) Grammer of Flagstaff, AZ., Julie (Greg) Kerls of Cuba, Jackie Truax of Cuba, Jo-Anne (Terry) Tice of Summerton, SC., and Jill (Mark) Andrews of Watertown, NY.; 26 Grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren, and a sister, Helen Constance of Penacook, NH. Mrs. Truax was pre-deceased by a sister, Mabel Pierce and a brother, Bob Stubbs. Friends will be received on Sunday, March 1, 2009 from 3-5 PM in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #24 Genesee Pkwy, Cuba. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 2, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the Portville Baptist Church. The Rev. James D. Truax, Mrs. Truax son and is the Pastor of the Dexter Baptist Church in Wellsboro, Pa. will officiate. Burial will be in the West Clarksville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Portville Baptist Church, 24 Temple Street, Portville, NY 14770.
