Frank J. Siclari, of 1108 Maple Street, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015 at the Pines Health and Rehab, following an extended illness.
Frank was born March 3, 1926 in Olean and was a son of Paul and Mary Nicolo Siclari. On May 29, 1965 at St. John's Church in Olean, he married his wife of 50 years, Natalie Lipson, who survives.
Frank attended Olean High School. He worked at the Olean Tile Plant for about two years before he was drafted into the Army Air Force. Frank served two tours in the Army Air Force from July 27, 1944 to Dec. 13, 1946. He always said that being in the Service was the best part of his life.
Frank attended the Country School for Photography, taught by John Doscher in South Woodstock, Vermont. He opened the Camera Center on West State Street in 1949. Frank moved the Camera Center to Union Street in the early 1960's and continued operating until his retirement in 1997. He was a life member of the St. John's Catholic Church. Frank enjoyed playing golf.
Along with his loving wife, Frank is survived by a brother, Leo J. Siclari of Vero Beach, FL; a sister, Antoinette "Toni" M. (Lawrence) Martiny of Alamonte Springs, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State St., Olean, on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2015 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 17, 2015 beginning with prayers at the Funeral Home at 9:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. John's Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. Edward J. Sheedy, Pastor of the St. John's Roman Catholic Church, will celebrate. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
