Della M. Hill

Della M. "Miss Della" Hill of 209 E. State St., passed away Friday, May 6, 2016, at the Olean General Hospital, following an illness. Della was born Dec. 14, 1959 in Olean and was a daughter of Richard J. and Della F. Rickey Gray. On June 11, 1982 in Las Vegas, NV she married her husband of 33 years, Richard "Doc" Hill, who predeceased her on June 25, 2015. Della graduated from Allegany High School in 1978. She lived in several states before returning to Olean in 1996. Della worked as a dietary cook at St. Joseph's Manor for a number of years before going to work at St. Elizabeth Motherhouse as a Nurse's Aid. She loved karaoke, sewing, going to the flea market, and antiquing, but she truly loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Della is survived by one daughter, Florence "Katie" (Jeremy) Pfeffer of Olean; three sons, Jesse J. Gray of Baraboo, WS, Justin M. Hill of Olean, and Cody N. Hill of Olean; three grandchildren, Mackenzie C., Hannah O. and Ethan M. Pfeffer; and six siblings, Eleanor F. Weatherly of Humphrey, Cindy L. Kohnen of Olean, Gilbert C. Gray of Allegany, William E. (Deb) Gray of Monroe, GA, Rickey "Red" (Maggie) Gray of Allegany, and Richard J. (Colleen) Gray of Salamanca; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State St., Olean, on Monday, May 9, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at which time a Memorial Service will be held with the family conducting services.
