Richard J. Piccioli

Richard J. "Richie" Piccioli, of 4115 South Nine Mile Rd., formerly of Grant Court and Olean, passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016 at the Pines Health & Rehab. Richie was born Nov. 21, 1930 in Buffalo and was a son of Pasquale and Mildred Orlando Piccioli. On June 13, 1964 at St. Mary of the Angels Church he married his wife of 52 years, Margel I. Adams, who survives. Richie graduated from Staunton Military Academy in 1950. He was an Airman in the US Air Force in the early 1950's. Richie went on to earn his Bachelors in Economics from St. Bonaventure University in 1964 and graduated from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA with his Master's Degree in 1972. He worked at the family Restaurant in various capacities, including office manager and bartender from 1950-1964. Richie was a teacher at Oswayo Valley School in Shinglehouse, PA for over 26 years, retiring in 1990. Richie was a member of the St. Mary of the Angels Church and the Penn Hills Country Club. He served as an umpire for softball for many years. Richie enjoyed golf and reading. Along with his loving wife, Richie is survived by three boys, David A. (Laura) Piccioli of Bradford, PA, Peter J. (Donna) Piccioli of Lexington, KY, and Paul R. Piccioli of Bradford, PA; five grandchildren, Sean, Miranda, Brady, Austyn, and Jarod; three brothers, Lewis Piccioli of North Palm Beach, FL, Daniel (Diane) Piccioli of Allegany, and Patrick (Betsy) Piccioli of East Rochester; one sister, Mary Piccioli of Allegany; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, #646 E. State. St., on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Memorial Mass will be held at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the St. Mary of the Angels Church, #202 S. Union St., Olean, NY 14760, the American Cancer Society, #197 Summer St., Buffalo, NY 14222, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
