Irise D. Tucker of 116 N. 4th Street, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Irise was born May 25, 1938 in Warsaw, NY and was a daughter of the late Willard & Vernice Patterson Prevorce. On May 13, 1961 in the Baptist Church in Great Valley she married her loving husband of 40 years Richard N. Tucker, who pre-deceased her on Aug. 28, 2001.
Irise worked in a nursing home at young age. And as an adult she worked in a number places & factories before becoming a house keeper. Her greatest love was her loving husband & family whom she truly enjoyed taking care of and spending time with. Irise also enjoyed going for rides and taking walks, going shopping & playing bingo. She was a member of the Creekside Chapel in Allegany and was formerly a member of the 60 Plus Group.
Irise is survived by five children, Richard Allen (Michelle) Tucker of Wellsville, Brenda J. Hale of Goose Creek, SC, Annetta M. Tucker Chapin of Olean, Rosalie "Kay" (John) Backhaus of Allegany, and Tammy L. (Christopher) Russell of Olean; 12 grandchildren, Kara, Sean, John "Rusty", Chrystal, Nicole, Kristannetta, Brianna, Brittany, Cortney, Christopher Jr., Caitlin & Chloe; 17 great grandchildren; a brother, Duanie Prevorce of Dansville;
a sister, Rose Thurber of Lady Lake Fl.; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her husband, Irise was pre-deceased by a brother Willard Prevorce and a sister Joyce Smith.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00pm in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State Street, Olean, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 23, 2017 at 11:00 am. The Rev. Dodi R. McIntyre, Pastor of the Jamestown Free Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be held in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean.
