Mrs. Pauline Johnson of 1209 Washington Street passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the Bradford Manor following a brief illness.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Alma, New York on August 26, 1933. She was a daughter of Samuel & Susan Fancher Stives. On May 3, 1952, in Olean she married her husband of 57 years, Cletus "Bud" Johnson, who passed away Apr. 29, 2009.
Mrs. Johnson attended the Bolivar Central School. She and her husband Bud owned & operated "Johnson Distributing" until she retired in 1998. She truly loved spending time with her family, going camping, playing cards and going to the casino. She also enjoyed playing cards and attending the casino.
Surviving Mrs. Johnson are a daughter, Susan A. (Richard Bird) Johnson of Olean; a son, Jerold E. (Kris) Johnson of Olean;
a son-in-law, Robert (Mary Ann) Chambers of Olean; six grandchildren and one great grandson; a brother, Samuel Stives of Friendship;
a sister, Mary Pangburn of Brownwood, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Johnson is predeceased by a daughter, Deborah L. Chambers who died on Feb. 4, 1988; one sister, Doris Miller; four brothers, Kenneth "Buck", Fred "Pork", Robert and Earl Stives.
As per Mrs. Johnson request there will be no visitation. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany, NY. Friends will be received on Sunday, June 19, 2011 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at her daughters, Susan's, home, at 144 North 12th Street, Olean, for a time of remembrance. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
