Florence M. Joseph, of 320 W. Delaware Ave., passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at the Buffalo General Hospital, following an illness.
Florence was born on May 25, 1934 in Belfast and was a daughter of Frederick and Mildred Swarthout Redmond. On Aug. 12, 1967, she married her husband of 50 years, James L. Joseph, who survives.
Florence was a 1952 graduate of Port Allegany, PA. She worked at ACME in Allegany before going to work at Tops in Olean, where she was the manager of the bakery, for close to 30 years, retiring about 2004. Florence was a member of the Hillside Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed golfing, bird watching, and gardening. Florence loved to read, especially her Bible, and helping her husband work on projects around the house, but she truly loved spending time with her family. She was smart and caring, and would sacrifice anything and everything for her family, who were her pride and joy.
Along with her loving husband, Florence is survived by; 10 children, Janet (Robert) Fredericks of Colorado, Dave W. (Karen) Troutman of Portville, Darlene W. (Daniel) Abdo of Fayetteville, NC, David M. (Jody) Joseph of Portville, Douglas W. (Lee Pamatmat) Troutman of Chicago, IL, Dawn W. (Edward) Wagner of Phoenix, AZ, Stephen (Liz) Joseph of Smithfield, VA, DeAnn W. (Terry Maguire) Troutman of Troy, Diane (Tim) Smith of Roundrock, TX, and Cindy L. Smith of Shinglehouse, PA; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; 4 siblings, Ruth Boyer of Addison, Judy (Ronald) Dates and Phil (Gloria) Redmond both of Roulette, PA and Fred (Shirley) Redmond of Burtville, PA; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Florence was predeceased by; a brother, Robert Redmond.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State Street, Olean on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, at which time a Memorial Service will be held.
